A live and installable operating system, a desktop dashboard, 27 Kodachi-authored binaries and a publicly documented command library, released on a continuous cycle with a published changelog.
A privacy operating system with 12 years of continuous development, 957,205 recorded downloads and users across 222 countries and territories is moving into verified physical products. The technology, the infrastructure and the audience already exist. Kodachi is now selecting partners to build the distribution layer around them.
Kodachi OS is a privacy and security focused Linux distribution in continuous release since October 2013. It ships as a live and installable image, carries its own desktop dashboard, its own signed binary suite, its own licensing and update infrastructure and its own privacy network. The software business is already running and already has paying customers. What comes next is hardware, and hardware needs a distribution layer that Kodachi has no reason to build from zero.
A live and installable operating system, a desktop dashboard, 27 Kodachi-authored binaries and a publicly documented command library, released on a continuous cycle with a published changelog.
Licensing, activation, entitlement checking, a customer facing dashboard and a fleet of Kodachi operated privacy nodes, already serving Premium and Custom customers under an annual model.
Every release artifact is hashed and signed. A public warrant canary, a live service status page, published checksums and source availability under KSAN-1.1 have been part of the project for years, not added for this page.
957,205 recorded downloads across 222 countries and territories. Of the 937,444 logged in the SourceForge era, Europe is 45.8 percent and North America 26.4 percent. The demand map already matches distributor territory maps.
SourceForge-era records, October 2013 to 2026: 937,444 downloads, of which 901,549 carry a named region. Percentages are of the full 937,444, so the rows above total 96.1 percent rather than 100, the remainder being records with no region attributed. The 19,761 downloads served in house since then carry no country data and are not in this chart, which is why this total is lower than the 957,205 quoted above. Read live from the same public dataset the downloads page uses.
The people who need a privacy operating system most are often the least likely to download an image, verify its signature and write it to a USB stick. The engineering problem is solved. The remaining problem is that privacy still arrives as a file. A verified physical product removes the hardest step from the customer experience and, in the same move, creates a unit price, a shelf position, a channel margin and a recurring service attachment that a free download can never carry.
Downloadable image and binary suite. Free, Premium and Custom tiers. In production since 2013.
A manufactured, serialized, tamper evident boot device carrying a verified Kodachi live image.
Selected Linux compatible hardware, shipped configured, signed, supported and serviced.
A Debian based mobile investigation on open hardware. Not a product, not announced, on the roadmap.
Each line needs a different kind of partner and each sits at a different point on the curve. They are listed with their real status, because a partner who is told a research programme is a product will find out at the worst possible moment.
A professionally manufactured boot device that arrives ready to use. It removes the download, the checksum, the flashing tool and the failed first boot from the customer experience and replaces them with a sealed package and a serial number.
Volume procurement, imaging and provisioning, packaging, fulfilment, retail and e commerce placement.
A machine that arrives with Kodachi already installed, already configured and already verified, on a hardware baseline Kodachi has tested rather than one the customer had to guess at.
Linux hardware manufacturers and OEMs, regional configuration centres, enterprise and institutional channel.
Under investigation, not under sale. The direction is a Debian based mobile implementation on open, Linux friendly hardware, carrying the parts of the Kodachi privacy model that make sense on a handset.
Partners plan in multi year cycles. It appears here so a mobile capable partner can see the direction, and for no other reason.
Kodachi is not seeking investment, an acquisition or a transfer of control. It is seeking the one layer it has deliberately never built: the global machinery that moves physical product into the hands of customers. The split below is the whole proposition and is meant to be read as two complete halves rather than as a wish list.
Neither side is asked to rebuild what the other already has. That is the entire point of the arrangement.
Commercial terms are set per partner, per product line and per territory, and are discussed privately. The structures below are starting points rather than a menu, and more than one can apply inside a single relationship.
Joint go to market with a security or technology brand under co branding that keeps both identities intact. Kodachi remains the named product.
Two tier distribution into an existing reseller base, with defined territory, forecast, stocking and renewal terms.
A manufacturer builds and ships hardware carrying a Kodachi verified image under a per device licence and an agreed service attachment.
Resellers and managed service providers sell Kodachi devices and service tiers into their own accounts, with margin and renewal participation.
Kodachi ships as the primary operating system, or as a verified secondary boot environment, on a partner platform.
Volume deployment into organizations, with configuration, dedicated infrastructure, defined support levels and a named escalation path.
Territory, commercial structure and any exclusivity are negotiated privately and are subject to defined performance commitments. Territory without performance is not a structure Kodachi enters. Economics are agreed in writing before any build begins.
Kodachi retains its trademark, its source, its architecture, its release control, its signing keys, its infrastructure and its roadmap. A partner is named alongside Kodachi, never above it and never in place of it. Warith Al Maawali remains the publicly and legally recognized creator of Kodachi. Every structure on this page is compatible with that condition, and it is the first thing agreed rather than the last thing negotiated.
A privacy product a customer has to take on faith is a contradiction. The Kodachi supply chain is designed so that the factory is a manufacturing step and not a trust boundary. A production partner receives finished, signed images and never receives Kodachi signing keys. A partner manufactures, configures, distributes, promotes and sells. Kodachi alone defines what an authentic Kodachi release is.
The second column is engineering work and is stated as engineering work. Kodachi does not present it as shipped, and no partner will be told otherwise.
The objective is a privacy and security product family a customer can recognize on a shelf, find in an enterprise catalogue, see on a partner line card and verify cryptographically in every form it takes. Software establishes the service relationship. A device adds hardware revenue, shelf presence, service attachment and a renewal, through a channel that already exists.
Europe and North America already account for 72.2 percent of the 937,444 downloads logged in the SourceForge era. The audience is in place before the first unit ships. The work is putting product where that audience already buys.
Kodachi has been designed, built, signed and released by Warith Al Maawali since 2013. The trademark, the source, the signing keys and the infrastructure have never left the project and have never been assigned, licensed away or held jointly. A partner is engaging with a product that has one identifiable, accountable technical owner and a release chain that has never changed hands. In a category where provenance is the product, that is not a footnote.
Kodachi is owner operated, so a qualified enquiry is reviewed directly by the founder. Commercial and technical questions are answered by the person who can decide them, which is what keeps the timeline short.
A short call to establish fit, territory, product line and the capability each side is bringing.
Architecture, roadmap, product specification, ownership and intellectual property position, security and release process, and current commercial traction.
Model, territory, term, commitments and economics, agreed in writing before any build or production run begins.
A first production run or a reference configuration in one territory, with a defined review point and agreed success measures.
Kodachi works with a small number of partners per territory and per product line. Enquiries that name a market, a capability and a product line are answered first.
Tell Kodachi what you distribute, where you distribute it and which line you are interested in. That is enough to start.
Nothing here asks to be taken on trust. Each statement resolves to something Kodachi already publishes.
The objective is not to sell Kodachi. It is to turn a proven privacy operating system into a globally distributed product family while its identity, intellectual property, technical control, trust model and founder credibility stay exactly where they are.

Live anonymity verifier
This panel reports selected network and browser signals visible to this service right now: public IP and location, IPv6, DNS, WebRTC leaks, and Tor / VPN / proxy routing state. It cannot prove what every remote service observes or whether a user is identifiable. Why anonymity matters
Every connection can expose signals such as an IP address, DNS activity, and browser characteristics. Kodachi’s VPN / Tor routing, DNSCrypt, kill switch, and leak controls can reduce exposure, but no configuration guarantees anonymity, confidentiality, or resistance to traffic correlation.
